Mom's doctor appointment went OK; cold less a worry than regular pill taking.

Doctor is worried that Mom might not regularly take her pills.  He is planning on asking a visiting nurse to check up on her.

Mom's cold that she got around 11/1/2014 seemed to be about the same or maybe slightly worse, so a doctor appointment was scheduled for today.

The doctor appointment today went OK. Mom's sugar was very high, so Mom got a stern reprimand to consistently take her pills. She had forgotten this morning. (I was unsure if she had forgotten, or had incorrectly taken the pills from the wrong day, so I did not push her to take them when I arrived.)

It did not help matters that Mom claimed she had not been taking pills for months... Her memory was really mixed up at that point.  I reassured the doctor that Jodi had been setting them up and that Mom
had been taking them, but less consistently than we would like....

Mom also got to be a pin-cushion. Blood drawn successfully on the 4th attempt, sugar adjustment shot in the belly, flu shot, another shot, and a B12 shot. Mom's attitude was good through that.

Doctor Chen said he would arrange for a nurse to occasionally visit Mom to check up on her.
Doctor also said that he wants to see her in a month, to make sure how she is doing.  He seems worried about her living by herself, mainly if she cannot remember to take her pills.

The cold was looked at, including X-rays, but seemed to be OK from his perspective.

So good news that the cold is not serious, and good news that a visiting nurse might be coming to help keep an eye on things.
