Mom to return to house on 12/3 if all goes well

The rehab staff checked the house out with Mom, and she and the house got the OK.
A few minor adjustments will be made to the house.  Mom has been scheduled to come home on next Tuesday.

Mom rode with Dad in their car, and the rehab staff followed behind to visit their home.
They watched Mom get in and out of the car, and watched go up the steps to the house, and how well she got around inside.

Dad will be doing the cooking, at least that is the understanding to start with.  So there was no need to focus on the kitchen.  Similarly the upstairs was not considered.
The main focus was bathroom access, and to have a bed where she can lay down.
My cousin Sean and I helped Dad this past weekend set up a bed in the living area that Mom can sleep on.
The items to fix that the rehab staff mentioned were pretty minor.  A rug needs to be taped down.  Dad already moved a clothes hamper and some bottles to better spots.  A grab bar will be added to the shower.

So with those arrangements, the staff said that Mom should be OK.

So if all goes right, Mom will come back to her home next Tuesday.

Mom yesterday morning was still asking Dad when she is going to go home, and why it depends on her.
Yesterday finally an answer could be given.  They have a plan for next week Tuesday.

Mom is getting better for eating as well.  She is now on nectar thickness food instead of honey thickness.
On today, Wednesday, 11/27, she will have another eating test with regular food.  They will see if it works or not.
Mom's main desire has been to drink regular water.  They tried that a while back.  It did not work well, but the staff agreed will try again.

Mom will be taken off Heparin shots, and will get pills of something else instead.

So, as expected, a slow, but progressing, recovery.

Praise God
